Well, I was growing my hair out for about a year and a half. One morning I woke up and decided that I couldn't take it anymore. I got it cut and that was that. Now its like a month later and I'm really regreting cutting it. It was like a love/hate thing. When it was long, i wanted it short, when its short I want it long. I think I'm gonna have to grow it out again. But, what a pain its gonna be.
The absolute number one rule every longhair must follow is "Don't cut your hair!" Fail to follow this rule and you have to live with the results. Don't beat yourself up about it though. I believe everything happens for a reason. Maybe you'll either think harder about it or try to be more patient the next time you even think about breaking rule #1. The fewer times you relive the awkward stage the better. Best of luck with however you decide to keep your hair.

Yeah, I did that once too. But look on the bright side: your hair is now short and relatively undamaged. This time around, you have a clean slate and you now know what to do to treat your hair right and it will be better than ever. Good luck. It's really worth it.

I did the same thing after a year of growing, and it was crazy, cause it was just like in your case.. I woke up and got in my head that I had to get it cut.. and i did, than again... my hair was extremely messed up and I didnt take care of it at all, now Im starting to really take care of it, so its cool.
I was soooo angry to myself for cutting it that I cant imagine going through that again, and everytime i remotely think of cutting my hair I just think of how I angry I was. thats what what helps me go through the process..
Alas, a story that we read of time and time again. But, sometimes the best way to learn as it WILL grow back.
Always remember the Bill Choisser rule: Wait 2 weeks before making the final decision.
Good luck in re-growing.
