Hi guys, when you look at the back of your hair (presumably using 2 mirrors, one which you hold in front of you, and a wall mirror behind you), is it normal to see much scalp showing? You might be thinking, 'of course it's hair loss,' but in this case I'm not sure if it's just my parting being done in a haphazard way, leading to more parts. I especially see this when I tie my hair back.
Maybe what I'm saying isn't making sense, but maybe it will make sense to some of you. Thanks for any help on the matter! :)
I know what you're talking about. . .a good example is my hair. I'm not going bald (or thinning), but because of the nature of curly hair to segregate itself into locks, it creates a bunch of "little parts" where scalp is visible.
Just one of the punches you gotta roll with.
Try put up a pic
If you are referring to the crown area it's normal to see more scalp than other parts of your head because you have your parting leading into it, plus it whirls and sometimes goes off in different directions, as mine does since I have an odd crown; it is lower than most other peoples' and splits into 3 paths. Because of that my parting carries on along my head so it's very noticeable from behind. I worry about balding because if I lift up a small bunch of hair strands around my crown, a greater amount of scalp is visible.
If there is an obvious patch of scalp, then it may very well be male pattern baldness. A picture would help. What is your hairline like around the temples?
