Since I haven't checked out the Hyperboard in so long I decided to start at the bottom and work my way up. Usually I do this and respond to a couple of letters, but this time my responses would have been small and they all related to each other a bit, so I'm just a going to go ahead and start a new chain. :)
A lot of men professed a desire to have female feedback. Here's mine: I LOVE long hair. Probably started as a child with cats and dogs. Might be internal. I remember running my fingers through my father's (short, but thick and silky) hair for the pleasure of it, same with the pets :). With the advent of adolescence I discovered I found boys with long hair to be sooooo much more attractive to me. At some point I came to want long hair for myself and it is now to the top of my butt. I imagine that you fellas, like me, enjoy the way it feels on your back and the attention (when favorable) that you receive. To my mind, there is hardly Anyone who doesn't look better with more hair. I'm talking length, not referring to baldspots. My husband's bald spot is one of my favorite places to kiss him when he is sitting. Perfect target :)
Seems like some men with dreads feel that other men/ppl here might not accept them as 'real' hair. I have experience with 2 men who are hugging-friends of mine. They both have waist length dreads. I love the clean spongy feel of them. The smell is always fresh and sweet. Everytime somebody acts like dreads are the result of poor hygiene I want to stomp my feet (haven't seen that here, btw). One of these guys is my best friend's brother and, like her, he's half black. He got the BEST hair. Dark brown with bright gold highlights. His hair naturally turns into dreads unless he makes an enormous effort to prevent it. I swear, it comes out of his head in perfectly spaced tight fuzzy corkscrew curls. Lucky devil. The other guy is a rastafarian intellectual activist type. Very dark. I imagine he has to work to make his hair dread evenly. I suppose I've seen men with dreads touch their hair, but I probably thought it was a habit, didn't know they need maintenance til someone here said so.
Swim Care-- I'm neurotic about my hair care because I'm trying to grow it to my knees. No one else here may wish to be as finicky as me. I love to swim. Before going in water with chlorine salt I work an oil that has coconut oil in it and doesn't have mineral oil (recipe varies) through my hair. I found one in a spray bottle once. I then have braided it, but I was still receiving too much damage. Now I've discovered (and it looks dumb) that my husbands dive hood works. I make a bun on the top of my head and put my head into the hood kindof like one puts one's foot in a sock. I stretch and gather it so that the exact spot where my hair will be is on the hair and pull it down around. silly huh? works great though. I also wet my head with shower water before going in and wash with a chelating shampoo when I get out. (removes buildup and minerals- good to use every week or so to remove shampoo deposits anyhow) My hair is extra soft and healthy looking afterwards, sort of a hot oil treatment.
I Always enjoy the samson posted, but I like best to see the hair falling free and wild. glorious I love when you guys post your picture on the hyperboard, you are all lovely.
My husband cut his long hair and beard off. I'm happy with him, but I still need my longhair guy fix.
Thanx! *hugs for everyone!*
