This is my first time posting here.
Anyway, I'm growing out my hair, I just really don't know what to consider 'long hair'. My hair is fairly long ( in my opinion ), but I want it A LOT longer. Shoulder length would be nice, but right now I'm fighting just to get it past my ears. Anyway, by looking at the pic below, what length do you think would look good on me? Mouth length? Chin length? Shoulder length? And how long will it take me to get it that long?
Scott, As long as you don't get any hassles from school and/or parents, you should just let it grow; flowing down over your shoulders would look very good on you. What is required is patience. Different guys' hair will grow faster or slower, but the average is about 3/4 of an inch a month. So, just hang in there, and keep posting pics of your progress with us from time to time. Good luck, and have fun. (By the way, my hair reaches to my waist. It has taken me years to get it that long, but I love it.)
If my memory is accurate I think most folks hair grows about a half and inch a month, 5 or six inches a year. You've got a good start.
Persevere, its worth it.
My biased opinion... grow it at least to mid-back- which should take a couple years, but what matters is what you think- you're going to be the one wearing it. It appears that you have a little less than a year for it to reach your shoulders... how long would you consider growing it to? take that as a long-term goal. Hair grows about ½ inch per month on average so you're going to need to be patient- don't dwell on what length it isn't- appreciate how long it is.

i when first started to grow hair. i had the same question in mind. but when it comes to a length yu think that it would be good if it is even longer and yu grow further. i would suggest yu let your hair grow as long as it grows. my hair is already hip length and thick. the feeling of it on me is simply great. so my answer is 'grow'
You've got what I consider the best type of hair for growing long-- Thick, straight and blond. The width of your face is such that you'll look fine with a center-part. Your hair will look great at any length from chin-length on down. Don't worry about how much time it will take. Get your mind on something else. Before you know it, you'll have great long hair.
