Hi,
My hair is very fine, about shoulder length, and 90% of the time, it's a complete mess, which is OK sometimes, but not for work.
Is fine hair 'styleable', would a wave / perm help - any ideas before I cut the whole lot off, which would make me VERY depressed.
Thanks
Alex
Oh, Alex, I wish I weren't so familiar with this problem myself! Is yours flyaway? Do you live in a dry climate? How do you wear it (i.e., layered, blunt cut, etc.)?
In my experience, fine hair is best all one length, blunt cut. Mine has always been flyaway, but after moving to a drier climate, the problem became almost unbearable. If it weren't for leave-in treatments, I don't think I could stand to wear it long. Do you use anything like this?
Chin up! I'm sure there is a solution that doesn't require cutting it off!
Thanx for encouragement - not gonna cut it off yet. Not particularly dry climate [London-UK], yes very flyaway, tried a few leave in treatments, but nothing satisfactory - any ideas? Agree will be best all one length, but I've got a way to go yet.
Good for you! You won't be sorry.

Alex, now that I know you're in the UK, I don't know that my own solution is even available for you to try. I swear by a leave-in treatment called "Infusium", and use the "original" formula (better for me than their "extra body", oddly enough.) I'm sure there are similar products there. If you'd like, I could check the ingredients for you if you wish to try to approximate it. I've tried other leave-ins too, and this seems to be the one for me. A terrific detangler and keeps the flyaway nearly completely under control.

With all the great tips I've seen on this board, I'm sure you'll get through the growing-out period: good luck!
Thanks for info - I'll look for the product here. If it's unavailable, I'll wait 'till I'm next in the US.
