    I used to love to watch the reaction of other customers. Even in the late 70's (when I started getting my hair done), it wasn't TOO unusual to see a guy in a salon for a cut.

    I cannot recall when I have not had my hair done at a salon. Minimally, I have my ends trimmed once / month and book appointments in advance. In all the years I've been having mine done, noone has even hinted that I'm in unexplored territory. And nooone has even blinked an eye when I've had spiral perms, a special style for wedding, or colour services done. Same goes for other countries I've lived in as well.
