hello,
i am 19 year old male. my hair is thin and dry and now that i grow it, it is getting wavy. When i use conditioner and rinse my hair feels like silk...but after it dries it is like a rag. like fine straw or something. i want to make it like an asians persons hair...they always have nice shiny free flowing hair (well most of them). even if their hair gets messed up, just a stroke or two with their hand and it looks fixed again. anyone with hair like mine know how to do it? or what can be done to make it like that? thank you
cyril
I've got the same problem, but fell into a solution while trying to solve a different problem. My hair has been growing out for 11 months, and is a-l-m-o-s-t long enough on the sides to pull back in a ponytail, but not quite. So, I use gel to hold the loose pieces in place. After everything is dry, if I brush my hair to get the stiffness out, everything still lays down the way I want it, but it feels softer. There are few if any flyaways, and if the wind messes it up, just a handstroke or two puts things back in order.
Give it a shot!
Sorry about responding to these ancient threads, but this is my first visit. I have NEVER found ANY gel that makes my hair softer than it is naturally and I don't think my hair is particularly remarkable. It's just long. It's not the worst I've seen, but it's not the best, either. I had a 16 year old friend who had absolutely perfect hair. It was straight and it seemed to never tangle. He could come to work at 6pm, get off at 10, working in a greasy pizza joint and around a steamy dishwasher with his hair in a pony tail. He'd undo his hair it it was as soft as a baby's hair. It just flowed back down around his shoulders into a perfect, frizz-free, shiny mane that was absolutely perfect. I've not seen anything that would do that for me, but hair like that is the kind I dream about. Mine does this little thing called "spider webbing". Basically a few strands of hair will take a detour down my back and stray off from the others. It makes me look like a stereotypical TV alcholic after a bad night.
I don't really brush all that often. It seems to tangle so easily and sometimes the tangles are so bad they're like knots. I can try to get the tangle out and actually rip the ends of a few hairs off and hold a knot of wadded hair in my hand. If I could figure out and solve that, my problems would be over.
