The image on the left shows my hair as of today. Last July I had my hair cut to its shortest length that it had been for many years. It was just long enough to get it all back into a ponytail tie. It was a fun change but I haven't had it cut since and am considering returning to the length shown in the picture on the right. That looks to be at least a year's worth of growth to get back there. I have had it much longer than that before but it's harder to keep the ends healthy.
I wish my hair was of coarse texture but it's fine and therefore prone to damage. There are only so many ways to wear it. I think if I kept it at the length shown to the right, I could keep the ends healthy.
Your hair looks very good to me, I wish I had it. Don't despair there are many of us who are worse off than you, hair wise that is.
I'm hardly despairing about my hair. I'm thankful every day for what I have.
Hi Jason,
Your hair looks really good here, with thick and even ends. I am sure that you will have no problems reaching your goal, and good luck in your latest hair journey.
I haven't done anything with my hair for years. Although I have a rather short terminal length, at mid back or slightly longer, at least I feel fortunate that at 65 years old, going on 66 in August, I have a full head of hair that hasn't exhibited any thinning for at least ten years. I still take the propecia, but there are actually times when I wonder whether I really need it. I take it mainly as an insurance measure more than anything else, and the cost isn't excessive anyway, about a dollar per pill.
I know that my presence on the hyperboard has been virtually non existent lately, but it's always good to see an update from you. I hope that all is well with you and yours.
Take care,
David
Hi David,
Thanks! I've been wanting to catch up but I think I may have an outdated email address for you.
It's fantastic that you have such a great head of hair. I also wonder if the Propecia stabilized things. It does seem like a good insurance policy that you stuck with it. I also am very thankful to not have lost any hair. I definitely don't take it for granted.
Have you been able to play any golf? How about your walks? This winter has been relatively easy although we're about to get more snow tonight. I've done fairly well with my cycling though I have missed some rides due to weather.
If you plan another trip into the States, we'd love to see you again.
Take care,
Jason
Hi Jason,
I need to get an updated email from you as well, since it's been years since we've been in touch. I d actually been down to the States a couple of times in the past ten years. Tammy and I remain good friends, and have taken a couple of bus tours to NYC, to see different things each time. Both of those visits to the USA were quite brief. If I get down again in the next couple of years, I'll be sure to let you know.
Our winter hasn't been as easy as yours. Although we haven't had an excessive amount of snow, things have gotten worse the past couple of weeks, and March looks as though it could be a rough month. We had a storm last night, and another one is due for tomorrow. Any golf this year will probably have to wait until well into April.
I'm glad that things are going well for you, and that you are still into the cycling. I would be delighted to see you and your family again if I have the chance.
Take care,
David
Hi Jason,
Wow, rare seeing you on the board but hey, it's not like I'm posting a lot myself.Nice to see update pics especially from us old timers of the mlhh.Have to say you take great care of your hair as even though I hate hearing about haircuts you appear to be doing right by them.Your new goal sounds like a good one but frankly either way it still looks great.Better than chopping it all off right? LOL. Anyway thanks for updating the board just so our users know we are still alive and kicking.Cheers

Hi Mark,
Yeah, it's always nice to stop by again. At least we've seen some other old-timers return for a visit recently. Thanks for doing what you do to keep this place up and running still.
I'd never cut my hair short but once in a while, I enjoy some variety within having long hair. It was nice to get rid of all the damage and my hair still feels healthy right to the ends since that cut in the summer.
Jason
Jason !!
As one who remembers the beginning of your longhair journey and has followed your adventures through the years, you can do no wrong in my book....
Great to see and hear from you.
Keep Well
Keep Happy
and Keep in Touch
Walter
Hey Walter,
Like I mentioned to Mark, it's always nice to see old friends pop on by the MLHH even if it's just once in a while. It has been quite a journey for us both with our hair and life. I've always enjoyed your comments and participation.
Good to hear from you too!
Jason
Well done, Jason. It doesn't matter if it's a bit shorter than it was, for the sake of caring for your ends. You like yours square. I like mine pointed, but that's a matter of personal taste. I'll see about an update photo soon.
Best wishes, Anthony
Thanks Anthony. I have no wish to ever return to short hair but it's fun to experiment a bit within the boundaries of long hair. Your recent update photo is very inspirational. I've enjoyed following your journey over these years and what a success it's been! I always enjoy reading your thoughts about matters both hair-wise and in general.
Many thanks, Jason, for your kind words. I have to say that I enjoy the well-earned sensation of hair on my back and shoulders. We become another kind of man, and it isn't just the appearance. In our fast-changing world, I appreciate what makes us unique persons, a part of that great movement that brought us out from the shadow of the guillotine and to a new humanism and the soul of man. Greetings to your family... Anthony
Hi Jason,
Nice to hear from you.
Sometimes a change is needed and you should have no problem at all going back to the length on the right.
Ive cut my hair in September to a short ponytail and have been enjoying the easier haircare. I Also wear it loose more often :)
Vincent
Hi Vincent,
Thanks, it's great to hear from you as well. You've had your hair at various lengths and it's nice to see how you've been able to experiment. I agree that having it somewhat shorter allows for wearing it down more often. I may alternate my length for variety though I have no plans to ever cut it short!
Jason
Hi
glad to see you back on the hyperboard.
Sad to know that you had to have your hair cut, you had awesome length. But it is very good that you still have your hair down to the shoulderblades!
If I am not mistaken last time you wrote about some problems at your work. Hope everything is going OK for you.
Cheers!
Well, it was just time for a change last summer. I had spent a week at a beach resort and the salt water did a number on my fine hair texture. The ends remain in great shape since the cut so I'm looking forward to getting back some healthy further length.
My job situation has been tenuous for a while. So far I've escaped being laid off. There's always a concern with looking for new work as to whether an employer would be discriminatory when it comes to hair length. I guess I'll have to cross that bridge when it comes.
Thanks.
I also have fine hair and now reaches my waist. I suggest that you have your hair trimmed 1/2 inch every 6 months to encourage growth and keep the ends healthy & strong.
I have fine hair too, so I understand how easy it is to get damaged. I've got chest length hair right now and it's so hard to take care of. Every time I go swimming it gets tangled and sometimes knotted, no matter how I wear it. Ponytail, bun, braids, a single braid. I'm thinking of going back to collarbone length so it's not such a pain.
