Hi guys,
Just to deviate from the heavy discussion going on here about TIMO not cutting his hair, lets lighten up with some fun stuff. Heres the game. I will post 5 known long hair myths and facts. Each poster thereafter shuld post 5 more myths or facts about long hair and so on. Lets start.
1) Hair grows downwards after a while. No matter how wavy/curly your hair maybe, after a certain amount of time it flows down. (This time depends on har type)
2) Long Hair men are not homosexual most of the time.
3) There is no way to avoid awkward phase. Everybody has to go through it.
4) Frequent trims dont speeden up the growing. It sets you back in growing.
5) Hair straightening when done excessively can really damage the hair.
Cheers!
I went to Bruce Gallagher at the end of last month. I'm very pleased with the small trim he gave me. The ends feel very healthy and I can brush them through with ease. All in all I'm pleased with where my hair is at. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE having long hair??!
I had a super vacation in Colorado last week. I posted some pictures for any interested.
This week I was taking some workshops and twice got to sit next to the same person. He's a really cool guy. Not quite the hippy look, but a total environmentalist and into wellness, all-natural stuff, etc. (So am I, but not as hard core as he is).
Anyways, I got to thinking he had the "granola look" with a mop of hair just getting near the end of the awkward phase and designer stubble. He's about 28 and says thinks "thanks bro" and "all right man." I could so picture him in a plaid shirt, Oakley or chrome sunglasses and a snowboard going out west (and I mean that as a compliment). "Granola" was the first word that popped into my head. But is that what "granola" really means? Can't seem to find a difinitive answer on that. How would you describle the granola look, like I have, or something different? And is the hair the main thing, or is it a "sum of all the parts?"

Hi,
I just equalize my hair behind. What do you think about now?
Lupulus, from Belgium

This photo was taken this morning 1/21 ... thought since it was a bit warm out (but very windy) here in the northeast I would do another hair over-hang photo so as the length could be more easily seen.

hey all!!!!
i know the rate at whitch hair grows cant be increased but can growth slow down?? over the last 5 months my hair has grown 15cm at the fringe but this month (start of jan) it seems like theres been no growth at all...is this just my mind playing tricks on me or is it possible that my hairs growth is slowing down?
Trying to upload pics and keep getting error message. I want to upload 6 progress pics like some I've seen on here, but it only "allows" one at a time. Can anyone tell me how to go about it? Thanks

Hey people,
Well, I promised a few pics on my birthday of my hair behind my ears, didn't I. Unfortunately, I couldn't take them as I've been ill for over a week, including before, on and after my birthday!:( Only today have been well enough to face school. My nose and lips have developed a few spots, as you do when you get colds, so I'd rather not take a pic of my face until they clear up, but as a consolation, I had taken a pic of the back of my head 8 days ago, intending to post it sometime. So here it is! I feel the hair at the back of my head changes drastically every month, it's really starting to look long in the back now, IMO.
I'll post a proper update at my 11 months mark, I think is on the 28th
Not to disappoint the millions of fans out there of Surferdude's hair:D
Comments most welcome!

Believe it or not I think my hair is kinda missing my old Cone filled shampoos, I didn't seem to get half as man fly away strands from my hair.
Take a look at the attached picture.
OK I'm much happier with the way my hair feels since I switched to cone free shampoos but, there is something to be said for Silicones, they hide a lot of imperfections.
Infact, by the end of the day, my hair can be a frizz of short-flyaway strands, so many infact that I'm concerned it could be damage rather than new growth.
To this end I have a question, most of my short fly-aways are twisted and wavy strands which crop up around my part and look quite ugly. They don't appear to have damaged ends, but the fact they are not smoother and straighter like the rest of my hair makes me wonder. Admittedly, they are 1-2 inches long so they don't have another 10 inches of hair pulling them flat.
Is it damage or new growth?
The photo shows mimimal frizz, but I washed/conditioned my hair this morning so its not the best illustration.
Sorted
It's time for my progress pics, so here we go:
I personally think it's starting to look good. Except in the back, still looks like crap there...
More pics, check out the link.
Any comments welcome!

As some (many?) of you know, back on July 1st I lost 7 inches of hair due to a huge mistake on my behalf. At the same time, I was going through a breakup of a relationship. About the only thing going for me was my dog! No matter what, he's there and faithfully by my side through whatever happens.
Anyway, just thought I'd share a pic taken just a couple of days after my losses (hair and relationship). I know it looks bad, but at the time I didn't really care about how I looked.
Anyway...at least the dog is cute! Hahahaha.
Hey, I've just started to wear a beanie/winter cap daily to hide the awful awkward stage of my curly hair. When I take it off my hair is more wavy/straighter, feels softer and looks longer. Is this damaging to hair to do this everyday? Thanks in advance,
Dan C
I've been using this for a while now, but im only fully appreciating it. Its phyto potion 9 which is an emulsion of plant extracts and macademia oil and other oils which are absorbs into the hair shaft (unlike jojoba which I dont think is well absorbed). It comes in a nifty metal tube and costs about £10. I use it after towl drying, a pea sized amount leaves my hair sleek yet bouncy and nice an shiney oh and lowers frizz... its cone free too : ) just thought id inform ya's looking for a good cone free leave in.
The TV listing for tonight's (Tuesday) "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" show on BRAVO says that the "straight guy is an artist who hasn't had a haircut in 9 years".
Just thought I'd mention it for anyone who might be interested.

Here is my son and part of his date. They were a hit at the dance. He wore a Zoot suit and she dressed like a movie starlet. The theme for the Formal was Hollywood! Long hair can go anywhere!!! Here is their altered photo!!!

Thank you so much Robert for clearing this all up. (the missing face photos) While we love to post here and you have all made my 2 sons happy knowing they are not alone in the long hair world... still we have to be safe!
The photo enclosed in this message is a few years old and you can't see their faces... But be assured they are beautiful and silly and happy with their hair long. Here they were trying out "Legolas" hair and had fun with that. I have 2 long haired sons. Drama Student age 14 and Lizard Hunter who is 11!
Thanks for everyone's support!!!
